January meeting notes: The committee lead reported on renovation of the pools, including the new patio that is planned for Gerri Ayers.
February meeting notes: Annual meeting held. No monthly report.
March meeting notes: Registration is open and a new adult coach has been installed. Assistant and junior coaches are set as well.
April meeting notes: Maintenance is underway at Park Cypress: (painting, rotten wood, gate repair, power washing). The fence at Park Cypress continually needs repair, we need to play to plan to replace the entire fence in the upcoming years. Gerri Ayers renovation is nearing completion. The plaster will be completed on Thursday. Gerri Ayers maintenance will begin once renovation is complete. Park Cypress will open on Saturday, May 5. An email will go out next week including opening days, pool hours, pool rules, proper attire, access card reminder and proper behavior. All parties involved in Phase 2 of Gerri Ayers Renovation/patio (pools, park, landscape) will meet so all are on the same page and can get updated plans/quotes to present to the board for approval before any work begins.
Swim team- Swim Team kicked off with a parent meeting on Sunday and evaluations will be on Saturday. Monday- Friday practice begins on Monday, 4/29. Practices will begin at Park Cypress pool and shift to Gerri Ayers when the pool is ready. Expect pool parking lots to be full. The Swim Team will contact tennis and pickleball committees with heavy traffic dates to pass on. There are currently 210 swimmers registered.
May meeting notes: Park Cypress has been open weekends in the month of May, no issues reported thus far. Gerri Ayers pool renovation is nearing completion. Currently filling the pool and today started day 1/10 of chemical treatments. Which puts Gerri Ayers possibly opening on May 26, 20204.
Swim team- Practice at Park Cypress is going well. Looking forward to getting back to Gerri Ayers.
June meeting notes: Based on homeowner comments, Crest was asked about swimming w/o lifeguards. HOA’s insurance would increase drastically if this change was made. Also, due to the precedent of having life guards the perception of the pools being guarded pools is out there. This poses a risk, no matter what the signage would say. It is also a requirement for this option to remove slides and diving board. The HOA could not do an unguarded offseason option, as the HOA must be consistent either way.
The new access cards are working great! Both pools are currently open. There have been complaints regarding the adjusted pool hours. ABP has had to pull in additional guards to Park Cypress specifically when the swimmer load is heavy. The off season maintenance at Gerri Ayers is not completed. McKenna still has painting in restrooms, under the pavilion and power washing to do, but needs two full days to complete this.
The GA pool renovation is not complete, communication with the contractor has been difficult. Diving board needs to be installed, lights in the pool are not working on one side, there are chips in the decking, there are discoloration issues with the new pebble tech in the pool, and general project clean up remains. ABP scrambled to get the pool open for us. Major chemical treatments had to be done by ABP to get the pool ready for swimmers. Pool cleaning equipment was replaced by ABP after being destroyed by the construction crew and restrooms were cleaned up. These items need to be deducted from final payment to the contractor. HOA project manager is trying to arrange an in-person meeting with him to discuss remaining details.
Swim Team – Swim Team will be wrapping up in a few short weeks, last week of June. Tonight is the 2nd out of 4 dual meets. The team is very grateful for the additional funds from the HOA to purchase new tents and the cooling mister that was used at the first home meet last week.
July meeting notes: There was no damage to pools from Hurricane Beryl. GT1 will be open tomorrow and A-Beautiful Pools will be checking chemicals at GT 2 checking chemicals and will advise when it is safe to open. Kelley will send communication out regarding pools being open again. The pool renovation contractor for GT 1 is addressing items that still need to be fixed. The sidewalk outside of the fence was damaged and needs to be added to the contractor's list of repairs. Landscape beds at the entry of the pavilion need new plants as well. Large planters will be added to the pool side of the pavilion. Heather to schedule McKenna to complete painting at GT 1.
August meeting notes: –Continuing to work with pool contractor to complete pool renovations at Gerri Ayers and will pressure washing decking and sidewalks once renovation is completed.
September meeting notes: No presentation at this time.
Swim Team- Proposed 2025 budget was presented and included requests for meet security and equipment purchases including new lane lines and lane line reel cover.
December meeting notes: A new contractor will complete repairs and install of gator splashers. The attorney will be drafting a letter to the previous contractor.
Swim Team- Nothing new to report.
