Welcome to Green Trails!
Welcome to Green Trails!
The landscape committee volunteers continue to keep our community beautiful. This is by far the largest committee within our community, which requires a great number of volunteers and support. There are several sub-committees within the landscape committee and volunteers are needed to continue the success of this great committee. The areas of need are many but to name a few; budget planning, trees, pruning, flowers.

January meeting notes: The committee lead reported putting out wildflower seeds. She is marking dead trees for removal. She requested info about how the landscaping around the pools will be managed during renovation. Crest contacted EZ Fiber Company about dirt removal around the trees.
February meeting notes: Annual meeting held. No monthly report.
March meeting notes: It was reported that IMS is responding to requests for work. Plant theft has occurred in Park Cypress. Herbs were considered for the garden and plants were added to the butterfly garden. A tree fell in the neighborhood which was quickly removed.
April meeting notes: Complimentary pine straw was added to Kingsland by IMS. Less herbicide will be used in this area because of the addition. Ezee Fiber has not been responsive to the request to clean up the dirt around trees. Committee will begin the clean up process. Weeds are currently taking over the grass. There are island areas that are bare or bare. Irrigation efforts need to be improved before plans to re sod on islands begins. The issue needs to be communicated to residents in some manner.
May meeting notes: A policy will be created and published regarding planting on HOA property. An explanation. Kathy Burleson asked if there is documentation of where the responsibility ends for Enclave and Forest. Landscape will develop a long range plan for islands and grassy areas. Encourage residents to report storm damage.
June meeting notes: We are waiting on the vendor to take down 4 dead trees by pond; issues with responsiveness have been an issue.
Irrigation reports – not monthly, these come out after the previous report gets approved and the repairs are made. The report for May is expected this week. Issues with irrigation reports are being addressed by asking IMS for the raw data and will see about putting it into a trackable format.
Heather Esteban to put photos with delineation together for Enclave and Forest vs natural area responsibilities.
July meeting notes: IMS will be completing storm debris pickup in place of mowing this week. Typically storm debris is an extra charge. IMS will propose additional tree clean up needed after the storm. Tree companies are being contacted for quotes for removal on storm damaged trees and making an inventory of damaged trees. Heather Esteban will take care of the trees on common area fences so they can be resolved. County will provide median and sidewalk clean up regarding trees and storm debris.
August meeting notes: The Board aligned that HOA will pay the invoice for the oak tree that was planted but is now dead once the tree is replaced. The fence is sitting on the stump on Greenhouse. Initial attempt to grind the stump was stopped because the fence was moving. Heather Esteban to coordinate the arrival of the fence company and tree company for the same day to complete the work together. Advised the Landscape Lead volunteer to go directly to the new tree vendor versus going through the existing vendor due to internal business issues. Landscape Lead to work with IMS to get debris on curb and Crest to call the county to get this picked up. Heather Esteban to ask IMS to spray wasps under the bridge around the retention pond. Linda Muchisky to follow up on irrigation status following approval of the latest report, including status of monument bed by Chick-
fil-A.
September meeting notes: Proposed 2025 budget was presented with minimal changes including: Desert Ivy herb garden, Desert Ivy butterfly garden, wildflower seeding, new paintings/tree/shrub, color, general maintenance, tree maintenance. There are no large projects planned for 2025, overall the landscape committee will work to improve the existing landscape. Regarding the landscape contract, at the minimum, would request 4 extra mows to be included in the contract, ideally would like 6 additional mows of the area between the ditch and homeowner’s fences due to safety concerns. .
December meeting notes: IMS will be replacing dead oak tree at their expense, but will be waiting until the first of the year.
